Kāpehe
Our Kumu Hula resides on Moku o Keawe in Hawai'i. She flies back and forth to Arizona when she can (usually every month) to oversee classes. Our Assistant (Kāpehe) instructors are from our professional/competition group, Hālau Hula 'O Kalikopuakalehua. They meet with Kumu weekly online. They are Moani, Tyanna, Malia, Kainoa, Maika, Makena, Ali and Lucia. We would not be able to continue in-person classes without these incredibly talented cultural practitioners and we are so appreciative of their desire to share their Aloha with everyone.
Kōkua
Our Helpers (Kōkua) were chosen by the Halau and have specific titles, following cultural tradition. Tamara and Jonnie are our Po'o Pua'a (mouthpieces of the Kumu Hula). They are in contact with Kumu the most (out of the student Hālau) and are the first ones to go to if you have any questions. Sam and Leilani are our Paepae (assistants to the Po'o Pua'a). All four of our precious Kōkua aid in keeping the Hālau in order. They help with organizing paperwork, sending out reminders, making announcements and much, much more. We value their time and dedication to our hula 'ohana.
